Technical regulation of the Eurasian Customs Union (TR CU) 025/2012 is a set of requirements to ensure the furniture product safety before being launched in the territories of Russia and EAEU member States. It aims to protect consumers from poor-quality furniture and unscrupulous producers.
What does TR CU 025/2012 cover?
The technical regulation covers personal furnishings for adults, children, trade, hotels, sanatoriums, catering and financial institutions. However, medical, antique, used and repaired furniture, as well as exhibitions, promotions and transport applications are not.
Proof of Conformity
If your activity is related to the production or delivery of products covered by the technical regulation on furniture, you will have to pass the conformity assessment with the regulations by obligatory EAC Certification or EAC Declaration.
Manufacturers and suppliers engaged in the adult and household furniture segment, including tailor-made products for administrative, theatrical, vessel, cultural, railway and other public areas, should follow the requirements for the EAC Declaration of Conformity:
- Application form
- Documents for registration
- Technical documentation
- Testing
- Contract with furniture description for the serial production
Samples are subjected to laboratory tests, whose results are recorded and form part of the evidence base. The furniture successfully declared according to one of the model schemes is marked before launching with the EAC marking – unique for the EACU member states.
If you specialize in children’s furnishings, depending on the documents provided, the EAC Certificate of Conformity for single shipment or serial production is issued.
Importers are required to provide:
- Application form
- Documents for registration
- Sampling and test program
- Recorded results
- Technical and shipping documents
- Labelled samples
